THIS SESSION IS POSTPONED and will be rescheduled for a future date to be determined.
The Maryland Episcopal Public Policy Network (MEPPN) works hard in Annapolis on behalf of the Diocese and in the name of our Church’s conviction that Health Care is a human right and should be affordable, of high quality and accessible to all. Recently MEPPN advocated for the passage of two bills: The Health Equity Resource Communities Act and the Access to Care Act, both of which will move Maryland closer to guaranteeing that right for all of its residents. But the work on these bills did not end with the Governor’s signature and now we have an opportunity to assist in their implementation.
On October 16 MEPPN will be joined by Michele Eberle, Executive Director of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange; Nellie Washington, Project Director of the Health Equity Resource Communities; Camille Blake Fall, Director of the Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities at the Maryland Department of Health; and Vincent “Vinny” DeMarco, President, Health Care For All Coalition.
This panel will lead attendees through an overview of the programs that are now available and then break out by region to hear from local program directors about actions to help promote access to care in our neighborhoods.
Sponsored by the Maryland Episcopal Public Policy Network in Partnership with the Baltimore-Washington Conference UMC, the Peninsula-Delaware Annual Conference UMC, the Episcopal Diocese of Washington and Health Care for All Maryland.
